Welcome to my homepage! I am full professor at the Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center in Warsaw. My research is on asteroseismology, the study of the inner structure of the stars by using their oscillations as seismic waves. Just as we know the Earth's structure from analysing earthquakes, we can use stellar pulsations to probe their interiors. The Copernicus Center hosts a strong group of scientists working in this field, and I am the past president of the International Astronomical Union's Commission 27 on Variable Stars. In my free time, I am often engaged in sports activities, such as competing in dragonboat races. In the past, I have acted as the secretary of my hometown's soccer team. Latest Update: 10 March 2013
