Comparison of peak density in FLASH and Gasoline runs
Peak height evolution of most prominent clump
modifier
description
-X128
resolution limited to dx = 1/128
-Mx
density increased by x%
-HR
high resolution (J ≥ 12 for FLASH, 1M particles for Gasoline)
-LR
low resolution (J ≥ 4 for FLASH)
Comments
A slope changes in "F-LR-M10, clump #2" indicate entering new
refinement level
Isothermal clumps can collapse to a point. Limited resolution
and imperfectness of numerical representation limits peak density of
self-bound clump at some level. The value of density at saturation
depends on resolution, details of numerical scheme, environment and
clump mass. For "G-*" models it is at few × 10-8
g/cm3, for "F-*" models it is at few ×
10-6 g/cm3.
